The Elysian Charter School is a free public school, funded by public monies and operated under a charter granted in 1997 and renewed in 2001 by the Commissioner of Education of the State of New Jersey.

Elysian is open to all Hoboken children (and out of district children if space permits), regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, ability or academic achievement. There is no admission requirement or testing, and no tuition.

Our mission is to build an active community of lifelong learners, provide a safe and nurturing environment, and educate each and every child to his or her fullest potential.
